SOLIDARITY NOT CELEBRATION
SOLIDARITY NOT CELEBRATION: Today we recognise International Women's Day and there isn't a man alive who doesn't owe a debt of gratitude to the women in his life, or to the women that have made our nations and our civilisation better. Paying that debt doesn't mean simply acknowledging it, but also combatting those who would ignore those contributions, or who would take any rights away from any woman, anywhere. I urge you to look closely at your life and all the places that women contribute to make your path easier, your days better, or your light brighter. Think deeply about what it would mean to you personally to have those women silenced or their work ignored. Now work to make sure than no person ever lessens those contributions or ignores that value for you or anyone else. I don't just challenge men to respect women, I challenge men to challenge the men who don't respect women. Patriarchy, misogyny, and sexism may end with women but they start with men. #IWD2019 #BalanceforBetter
